Ugh, i’m in such a bad mode now. Like why does stuff about feminism always have to show up in everything. It’s on my dash when it doesn’t have to be. I’m literally shaking now, it just makes me so angry when this happen all the time. homophobia has nothing to do about straight women like why does everything have to ead back to us. women are not alway the victims! i really don’t like feminism any more.
Why does feminism show up in everything?
Probably because systematic gender inequality is incredibly pervasive and ubiquitous, and some of us are kinda sick of that.
you can continue whining, i won’t stop you. there’s no need for feminism, just gender equality in general and feminism won’t fix that. and my post was refering to a post that i had reblogged before that made homophobia an issue about straight women which it isn’t.
Gender equality is a GOAL, not a process. In fact, it is a goal of feminism.
But no, compare activism to “whining.” Good job.
Now, I can agree that homophobia and other forms of queerphobia really don’t have anything to do with any straight person. My point, however, is that making a big stand against “Feminism being in everything” is sort of missing the point about why feminism exists and is needed.
no matter what you think, complaining on the internet is not a form of activism. and i meant that everybody should fight for gender equality, for both genders wich feminism doesn’t.
1. Online activism is valid. It gives people a technological platform from which they can reach thousands and even millions of people. That level of exposure is simply unattainable for many people in “real life” spaces. Activism being more accessible to wider audiences doesn’t decrease it’s validity.
2. There are more than 2 genders. Don’t be binarist.
3. a. Yes feminism does. b. A movement is not measured by how much it helps men. “Helpful to men” is not the yardstick of worth.
